Story will revolve around three cops and a career criminal who navigate a web of conspiracy after a murder.
Farrell will play Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him.Series creator Nic Pizzolatto is penning all eight episodes of the second series. Justin Lin, who solidified his fame with his Fast and Furious films, will direct the first two episodes.
Vaughn is set as Frank Semyon, a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.
There are no more additional casting announcements yet, so there is still time to debate, assume, and theorize who will take up what roles. There is an expectation that there is still a police officer role to be filled by a female lead.
