SciFi Fans! Drop What You're Doing And Watch The Opening Of C: 299,792 KM/S
It was all the way back in 2011 when we first came across Derek Van Gorder and Otto Stockmeier's scifi short C: 299 792 km/s. The fact that the duo were creating the entire piece without the use of any CGI or greenscreen - preferring to work with miniatures and special effects built with their very own hands - is what originally caught our eye. The fact that it looked absolutely fantastic is what kept us watching.

This film is the story of an idealistic flight officer who hijacks her spaceship during an interplanetary cold war, and attempts to escape our solar system in search of other habitable worlds. However, when a small group of soldiers led by Second Lieutenant Kai provide unexpected resistance, Malleck's master plan is threatened. A compelling sci-fi action/drama about one woman's vision for the next logical step in human development: the leap from interplanetary to interstellar colonization.
A pair of teasers have been released for the film so far, as the creators launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund completion, and with things now wrapped up and the completed short due to arrive online at the end of the month they've released a new tease: The film's opening scene.
