The Director And Star Of Danish Prison Drama R Return With A HIJACKING
It has been a busy couple years for Denmark's Tobias Lindholm. Though his 2010 directorial debut R - cowritten and codirected with Michael Noer - suffered some from being released in close proximity to Jacques Audiard's similarly themed A Prophet, the film's raw power still drew a great deal of attention.
Lindholm has since written for a popular Danish TV show, while also penning the script for Thomas Winterberg's Mads Mikkelsen starring thriller The Hunt. But the big question, of course is when Lindholm would direct again and the answer is now.
Lindholm - flying solo this time - has reunited with his R leading man Pilou Asbaek for A Hijacking. Now in post-production it's not hard to make out from the image above that the film revolves around the hijacking of vessels off the Somali coast.
