Full Trailer For THE INBETWEENERS MOVIE Plays (Unsurprisingly) For The Lowest Common Denominator
Ah, The Inbetweeners. The hugely popular Channel 4 comedy plays like the slightly mentally disabled - and far more sex obsessed - cousin of Peep Show. It's a show that revels in the awkwardness and base tendencies of the male teen and while it's pretty much a one trick pony it more often than not executes that trick to hysterical results.
But the thing about shows based on teens is they don't stay teens forever. The principal cast is older than the characters they play now, which means the time has come for graduation and one hell of a post-education party in the form of a resort holiday. In movie form.
Making a movie about four sex obsessed teens on holiday can only possibly go one way and, given that this is The Inbetweeners, it's a safe assumption that this one will be raunchier than most. The first teaser made the premise clear - they've gone to Greece to get laid - and now the full trailer makes it explicit. They've gone to Greece to get laid. And they're doing rather badly.
The problem with movie adaptations of TV series is that it means doing what worked perfectly fine on a certain scale much, much larger. And in this case that seems to mean a lot more of Jay - by far my least favorite character - but there are also some promising notes tucked away in there. Check it out below.
