AFM 2010: Official Poster Art For Noboru Iguchi's KARATE ROBO ZABORGAR And Yoshihiro Nishimura's HELLDRIVER
Earlier today I (almost literally) ran into the two key producers for Nikkatsu's Sushi Typhoon label, freshly arrived in Los Angeles for the American Film Market. And what have they brought with them but their new sales guides loaded up with the official poster art for Yoshihiro Nishimura's Helldriver and Noboru Iguchi's Karate Robo Zaborgar.

Nishimura's zombie epic needs no introductions around these parts - you can find the trailer here - but perhaps a word on the latest from the director of Machine Girl is in order.

A revival of the classic television series of the same name, Karate Robo Zaborgar is Iguchi's first proper foray into the world of tokusatsu. It's the story of a boy and his motorcycle, the gimmick being that the motorcycle transforms into a voice-controlled robot that can - and is - used to battle a variety of bizarre cyborg creatures. The film is Iguchi's highest budgeted affair to date by a fair margin and his first ever project shot in a 2.35 aspect ratio. And it looks great.

Check out the artwork for both films in the gallery below.
