It's SHERLOCK HOLMES Versus Dinosaurs, Sea Monsters And ... Robots? The Asylum Is At It Again!
The only truly surprising thing about The Asylum's spin on Sherlock Holmes is that the mock-buster producers are releasing it after Guy Ritchie's big budget version rather than their customary couple weeks before. Though I suppose having the DVD out prior to the big version still allows them to engage in their regular exploitation of the big studio's big advertising budget.
Littered with dinosaurs, a robotic dragon, some sort of steam-punk version of Iron Man and other assorted touches, this is clearly not Doyle's version of Holmes, though it could arguably be Holmes transplanted into any number of other Doyle works. Having Gareth David-Lloyd - the best thing about Torchwood - in there means the acting should be better than normal and the director actually served as a production assistant on Avatar so maybe .... nah, it's still total pulp. Check the trailer below.
