First Trailer For Supernatural Kung Fu Film PAINTED SKIN Arrives!
Sigh. How long has it been since The Bride With White Hair? Yes, I know there is a numerical response to that question but the correct answer - and the only correct answer - is, of course, too damn long. Horror tinged supernatural kung fu films were once a staple of the Hong Kong industry, a significant genre unto themselves, and a very popular genre unto themselves, but - alas - all good things must come to an end and after an impressive run the stories of demons and wizards battling kung fu masters fell out of favor and the genre was largely abandoned. Until now. We've run quite a lot of coverage of Gordon Chan's upcoming film Painted Skin - starring the legendary Donnie Yen - and with the film arriving in theaters in September the first trailer has finally arrived! Verdict? Tasty in a pleasingly old-school way. I'm sure we'll see more footage in higher quality over the next while but for now you can find this first, English subtitled, trailer below the break in the ScreenAnarchy Player.
