Barbet Schroeder Adapts Rampo! INJU: THE BEAST IN THE SHADOWS

Now this is an intriguing combination. Barbet Schroeder has built a very well deserved name for himself throughout a long and critically acclaimed career and I have to say that his latest project comes as a bit of a surprise. Currently in post production, Inju: The Beast In The Shadows is an adaptation of a story by legendary Japanese horror writer Edogawa Rampo. The film stars Benoit Magimel as a crime writer traveling to Kyoto to receive a literary prize before things go all wrong for him. The behind the scenes crew is very strong on this and Ryo Ishibashi anchors the Japanese portion of the cast so expect great things when the film releases in September.
