Circus Road Films turns 10!

Los Angeles, CA – October 13, 2016 - Circus Road Films is celebrating its 10 Year Anniversary! Glen Reynolds founded Circus Road in 2006 as a destination for independent filmmakers to find fair, equitable representation and guidance navigating through the world of film financing and sales.

A lifelong “film freak”, Reynolds broke into film by working as an actor in New York while studying English Literature at NYU. After receiving his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law at Austin, where he got a taste for entertainment law, Reynolds worked in international film sales and production for 10 years with Curb Entertainment and Fabrication Films.

In his search to branch out on his own, Reynolds assessed the needs of the independent film market and found a niche he knew he could fill - the role of producer representative– it was a job that utilized his varied background and interest, as a creative, lawyer and salesperson. He founded Circus Road Films to provide strategic advisory services to filmmakers, with an emphasis on the sales of completed motion pictures to North American distributors.

Reynolds was inspired to name his company after the street he lived on as a child in London. While contemplating the name he came across a fitting quote by the filmmaking legend Federico Fellini that sealed the deal, “at the end of the day, cinema is an art form being, at the same time, a circus, a voyage to our souls, a mirage, and an illusion of life itself.”

With Fellini’s words as his compass, Reynolds set out to guide creatives through the process that is essential to getting their stories and films into the world. So many creatives are focused on making their art, but do not always have the know how to get their art disseminated out into the world. Circus Road loves to bridge that divide.

Josh Hallman, creative director at Circus Road says, “working with Glen has been great. He's always been the person I turn to when I need to discuss ‘the state of the industry.’ Business and outlets change so fast within the indie world and fortunately, he always has a pulse on things. He's incredibly knowledgeable and knows independent film inside and out.”

Like Reynolds did 10 years ago, he has spent this last year assessing market needs for film and saw another niche he could fill in the realm of film publicity and marketing. He recently launched a new company, Media Circus, with producer, Adam Bowman, to offer filmmakers film publicity, social media and marketing services for festival premieres, theatrical and VOD releases.

“Not to sound too colloquial, but Glen is a straight shooter. I haven’t come across many people who will tell filmmakers the facts of the business at his own expense, like Glen. That is especially rare in the indie world and why I wanted to build a business with him.”

Media Circus, like Circus Road Films, is committed to supporting filmmakers through the process of ushering their films out into the world and connecting them with audiences. Media Circus has the opportunity to help extend Circus Road’s mission by helping filmmakers secure media coverage, generate film festival campaigns, distribution campaigns, maximize social media, offer unit publicity, PMD (Produce of Marketing & Distribution), trailers, key art and website support at affordable costs.

What a difference a decade makes - ten years, over 600 titles, and a brand new company – Reynolds and the entire Circus Road Films team and collaborators have a lot to be proud of. Reynolds is still amazed that he gets to, “keep living the dream,” every day.
