Razor Reel 2016 reveals SLASH as part of festival line-up

To celebrate Bi Visibility Day the Razor Reel Flanders Film Festival announces the Belgian premiere of Clay Liford’s SLASH as part of the 2016 program.

Neil (Michael Johnston) struggles to fit in at school. Expressing himself through writing, his fantasies follow sci-fi action hero Vanguard to far off planets where fights for justice tend to unravel in shirtless skirmishes that embrace same sex entanglements. Passionate about Slash (erotic fan fiction) Neil is ostracized at school but soon finds a kindred soul in Julia (Hannah Marks), a fellow slasher who gets her kicks from Fain Elven fiction. Embracing Neil as her protégé of sorts, the duo explores an unusual writerly passion as a comic con-bound journey of self-exploration checks taboos at the door.

In SLASH, a winning exploration of teenage angst and bisexual feelings through the lens of erotic fan fiction, life, love and acceptance can be messy, but a life lived in an offbeat manner can prove to be all the better because of it.

Belgian audiences (and international visitors of Bruges!) can drop by the Cinema Liberty on Friday the 11th of November for an afternoon screening of SLASH at 4 pm.

SLASH is the first announcement of Razor Reel 2016’s thematic focus on young adult movies with a fantasy twist.

More to be revealed in the near future!
