First Trailer For Slick Korean Thriller THE HUNT

Fabulous Korean character actor Ahn Sung-ki - you almost certainly know his face even if you don't know his name if you've been at all aware of Korean film over the past twenty years - takes the lead role in Lee Woo-chul's backwoods thriller The Hunt and the first trailer promises very strong results, indeed.

When raw gold is discovered deep in the woods, a group of gold hunters arrive to mine it. Several neighbors in the area witness the hunters by chance and find themselves in danger. Among the witnesses, hunter Ki-sung risks his life to protect the other witnesses and engages the gold hunters in a cat-and-mouse game of death.

The basic premise of this one - the outsider taking up arms to protect what's right - is as old as the cinematic hills but people keep on returning to it because it just plain works and this one looks as though it could be a strong example of the type. Check out the trailer below.
