Osaka 2016: THE MOHICAN COMES HOME, Watch The Trailer Here!
Opening tomorrow night, Japan’s finest festival of Asian film, Osaka AFF, will run for 11 days before finishing closing with the world premiere of The Mohican Comes Home, the latest work from acclaimed filmmaker Okita Shuichi. Both written and directed by Okita, the man behind hits The Woodsman and the Rain and The Story of Yonosuke, the film features an all-star ensemble cast in a comedy about love, family and rock n’ roll.
Matsuda Ryuhei (Gohatto, Nana, The Raid 2) stars in the film as death metal band fronting rocker Eikichi. Returning to his hometown on the remote Tobi Island, Eikichi is joined by his pregnant girlfriend Yuka (Maeda Atsuko: Seventh Code, Kabukicho Love Hotel) as they visit his stubborn old father Osamu (Emoto Akira: Unforgiven, The Eel). Soon after the young couple’s return Osamu receives a terminal diagnosis and the rebel son sets out to find a way to please his dying father…
