STAR TREK 3: Idris Elba In Talks To Play The Villain?
Variety is reporting that their sources close to the production of Star Trek 3 have found out that Idris Elba (Pacific Rim, Avengers Age of Ultron and Thor The Dark World) is in talks to take up the role of villain in the next film. Paramount and Skydance would not comment on this news.

Of course details about his role will be kept under wraps until the very last moment when a strategic leak takes place. The same report noted that early rumors had the Klingons as the villains in this next film. I hope we are not making the connections because Elba is black.

Elba is an intriguing choice though. He certainly carries an intensity and could be malevolent if he really wanted to.

Star Trek 3 will be directed by Justin Lin. The latest draft of the script is being written by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung.
