JOHN WICK Directors In Talks For COWBOY NINJA VIKING Flick
Well howdy, konichiwa and ves heill!
John Wick was arguably one of the best action flicks in 2014 and that was thanks to the hard work of stuntmen turned directing duo of Chad Stahelski and David Leitch. According to a report over at Variety they are in talks with Universal about taking the helm of their adaptation of A.J. Lieberman and Riley Rossmo's comic book Cowboy Ninja Viking.
In the original comic book the story follows a man, Duncan, who suffers from multiple personality disorder and is put into a government program to be turned into an agent called a Triplet. Duncan channels the skills of a cowboy, a ninja and a viking. In the comic book the program dissolves and Duncan is sent after the other rogue Triplets.
The film already has Chris Pratt attached to it. Pratt met with Stahelski and Leitch then gave the studio his approval. The report suggests that Universal put this pic on the fast track now that Pratt's star has risen. He finds himself very much in demand after the success of Guardians of the Galaxy.
When production begins is the next question. Pratt is shooting The Magnificent Seven with Denzel Washington next. Disney and Marvel want to get the next Guardians of the Galaxy going as well.
They can take all the time they want considering the amount of time Leitch and Stahelski will need to set up the fight choreography. Each Triplet comes with three skill sets, at least two of them are lethal fighting skills (Sniper-Archer, Mohawk Indian-Spartan, Conquistador-Green Beret) there is a lot of variety that can be thrown into a single fight, let alone a whole movie.
Oh my god! This is a feature length version of the television show Deadliest Warrior! With a plot!
