Rocking Star Manchu Manoj Returns In CURRENT THEEGA Teaser

I have a lot of favorite actors, but my favorite performer is probably Tollywood's Manchu Manoj. Manoj is the son of a famous actor in Andhra Pradesh in India, but he's happily blazing his own path in the world of romantic action comedies. Over the last 5 years, he's come on strong with a string of entertaining, if not altogether coherent, action films like Mr. Nokia, Vedam (an ensemble piece), UKUP, and Potugadu, so anything with his name attached instantly gets me excited.

"Rocking Star" Manchu Manoj gives every performance 100% of his physical and emotional effort, doing all his own stunts, even the insane ones he should probably pass along to professionals. Manoj isn't the greatest actor in the world, but what he lacks in talent, he more than makes up for in enthusiasm. I've never seen an actor more aware of the fact that he's onscreen than Manoj, which leads to some epically hammy performances punctuated by ridiculously aggressive fight scenes that may be sloppy as hell, but super fun to watch.

His newest film is Current Theega (High Voltage), and the first teaser appeared today. There's not a whole lot of meat here, but what there is looks great to me. Check out the teaser and some BTS shots from Manoj's facebook page in the gallery below.
