RUROUNI KENSHIN: KYOTO INFERNO Releases Major Extended Preview Before International Premiere At Fantasia
An enormously popular manga comic and anime, Rurouni Kenshin is such a successful franchise, that it was hardly a surprise when someone made it into a live action film. What WAS a pleasant surprise though, was how good the film turned out to be when it got released in 2012. A great cast and uncommonly high production values made for an impressively entertaining adaptation, able to win over rabid fans as well as the general public.

In fact, Rurouni Kenshin was enough of a hit to get two sequels greenlit, to be made back-to-back. The first of these is Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno, which will have its world premiere on the first of August in Japan. And then, as always, begins the long wait for it to arrive in the rest of the world.

Well, long wait... As it turns out, the first screening outside of Japan will be a mere two days later, when the film gets its International Premiere in Montreal at Fantasia!
And to put icing on the cake, Director/Co-Writer Keishi Otomo and Executive Producer Hiroyoshi Koiwai will be present as well.

The Rurouni Kenshin stories are about an assassin in late 19th-Century Japan, who quits his job and tries to atone for all the people he killed. Settling in the countryside, he becomes a protector of everyone he befriends. But his past catches up, and both romance and disaster are just around the corner.

For now, the Japanese have released a new teaser for the second film. And as teasers go, it is a pretty long one at six minutes. This introduces the main characters, the actors playing them and a quick recap of the first film, but there is plenty of new footage to be found as well. No English subs are available yet, but have a good look regardless!
