Magnet Gets U.S. Rights For SXSW Midnighter STAGE FRIGHT For A Song

So when word got out that he was making the feature length horror musical Stage Fright, myself and anyone who has seen his short film giggled like schoolchildren. And ahead of its World Premiere at SXSW next month, Magnet have acquired the U.S. rights for Sable's feature debut. 

"Stage Fright is smart, stylish and incredibly fun--an assured debut from Jerome Sable, with excellent musical numbers that really deliver," said Magnolia President Eamonn Bowles. "Its inventive and entertaining blend of slasher horror and musical comedy will appeal to genre fans of all stripes."

"Scream meets Glee in this dark comedy musical about a starry-eyed teenager Camilla Swanson who aspires to follow in the footsteps of her Broadway diva mother. Instead she's stuck working in the kitchen of a snobby performing arts camp. Determined to change her destiny, she sneaks in to audition for the summer showcase and lands a lead role in the play, but just as rehearsals begin, blood starts to spill, and Camilla soon finds herself terrified by the horror of musical theater.

Magnet is releasing the film in its Ultra VOD program, launching it on iTunes and On Demand on April 3, followed by a theatrical release on May 9. ScreenAnarchy will be at SXSW in force this year so look forward to a full review of the film after its World Premiere.
