There Are A Few Things DON JON Really Cares About In Life!
Oh my. This is not your mom and dad's JGL. I bet your dad wishes this was his Scarlett Johansson though. Prepare to feast your eyes on a meaty Joseph Gordon-Levitt and a delectable Scarlett Johansson in the trailer for JGL's feature-length directorial debut, Don Jon

A New Jersey guy dedicated to his family, friends, and church, develops unrealistic expectations from watching porn and works to find happiness and intimacy with his potential true love.

Before Chase Wale moved on from reviewing films to distributing them he caught the film for us at Sundance. You can find the link to his full review below but here are a couple choice snippets for you.

"Don Jon('s Addiction) is filled with a lot of masturbation, pornography, and the wholesome, sweet Joseph Gordon-Levitt as he's never been seen before. He's all muscled up, acts like a Jersey Shore meathead, and only has one thing on his mind: the next time he's going to jerk off. The boy you once saw in Angels in the Outfield sat this one out. The JGL we get here is filthy and awesome...

"...Buried underneath the cum-filled tissues and talk of blowjobs and X-rated movies is a damn good story about reality versus fantasy. The more a man gets involved with watching pornography, the more skewed his mind will be on how real sex is supposed to be like. It shows how addiction and obsession can and will start to corrupt everyday life."

The films opens in cinemas on October 18th.

I think this looks like a hoot, but what's the difference between the thesis here and the usual corny old saw about how violent video games are going to tun impressionable kids into stone killers? I think the only difference is the prudish US cultural view of sex. I mean, fantasy is either blameless when it comes to normal, everyday interactions in regular life or it isn't, right? It's not blameless when it's Grand Theft Auto but then poisonous when it's pornography.

JGL if you're reading this...Please stop! I want you and I can't have you. Now that you're muscular I want you even more. Life is so unfair.

Well......I wish ScarJo was mine, especially in this film, where she seems to tap in to her inner Marisa Tomei.

Looks like a nice romcom though, could be entertaining, just like Choke(2008).

yeah, I can potentially see a lot of bullcrap in this movie about how he overcomes the urges and sees people for what they are (with the help of a therapist) and all that moralising shit, kinda a like a catholic version of Shame.
