Spotlight

ALMOST CHRISTMAS
A Christmas comedy starring Paul Rudd and Paul Giamatti as French Canadian ex-cons in New York? Well sign me up. Oh, and it's directed by Phil Morrison, the guy who did Junebug? Hey, even better! - Ben Umstead

ADULT WORLD
Emma Roberts stars as an aspiring poet who pays the bills by working at a sex shop and spends the rest of her time trying to get in good with a local reclusive author played by John Cusack in Scott Coffey's follow-up to 2005 Sundance title Ellie Parker. - Ryland Aldrich

BEFORE MIDNIGHT
Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy are back for the third installment in Richard Linklater's Before... series which is every bit as --oh right sorry, no spoilers. - RA

BIG BAD WOLVES
Many of you may remember a fantastic horror film from Israel a couple years back called Rabies. Directors Navot Papushado and Aharon Keshales follow that up with this revenge thriller where a vigilante cop and vengeful father team up to bring in a serial killer suspect. -BU

BYZANTIUM
Though the buzz from the festival circuit has been lackluster for Neil Jordan's return to the vampire myth, this is after all a Neil Jordan directed vampire film. Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan star as momma vamp and baby vamp. So to that I say: "Let the blood pour, my beauties!"- BU

A CASE OF YOU
Evan Rachel Wood, Sam Rockwell, Peter Dinklage, Busy Philipps, Brendan Fraser, Sienna Miller, Justin Long, and Vince Vaughn in this huuuge cast rom-com written by Long and directed by Kat Coiro (L!fe Happens). - RA

THE ENGLISH TEACHER
Julianne Moore reprises her recent role-de-rigueur as a goofy cougar in ridiculously prolific TV director Craig Zisk's (The Larry Sanders Show, Weeds) feature debut. Michael Angarano, Greg Kinnear, Lily Collins, and Nathan Lane co-star. - RA

IN GOD WE TRUST
One look at the trailer for Viktor Kubicek and Derek Anderson's Bernie Madoff documentary and it's clear the stage is set for a thrilling financial drama that tests the old adage that truth is stranger than fiction. - RA

INSIDE OUT: THE PEOPLE ART PROJECT
Alastair Siddons's gorgeous looking docu takes us inside the worldwide art project from French street artist JR, famous for using enormous portraits to cover buildings around the globe. - RA

MCCONKEY
Red Bull Media House has made a habit of producing the very best in action sports filmmaking in recent years and there is no doubt this documentary on the life of late great extreme athlete and Red Bull poster boy Shane McConkey will be one of the most exciting yet. - RA

THE PRETTY ONE
Zoe Kazan is certainly a pretty one. Now more importantly she's one of our most damn fine young actresses right now. Jake Johnson and John Carrol Lynch co-star in Jenée LaMarque's drama on identity and loss. -BU

THE PROJECT
Shawn Efran and Adam Ciralsky take us inside the clandestine world of the Somali paramilitary mercenary pirate hunters known as the Puntland Maritime Police Force and the former US military that have helped train them. - RA

A SINGLE SHOT
Sam Rockwell (he's everywhere), Melissa Leo, William H. Macy and Jeffery Wright star in this moody backwoods crime thriller. -BU

TRUST ME
The Avengers' Agent Coulson directs and stars in a movie. I mean Clark Gregg directs and stars in a movie. You may remember Gregg was bold enough to pull off a Chuck Palahniuk adaptation with Choke a few years back. This time Gregg aims his sights on the topsy turvy world of Hollywood stardom. -BU

WHITEWASH
Thomas Hayden Church is front and center in this dark comedy about a man who must face his most inner demons amidst a harsh Quebec winter. - BU

Viewpoints

Take a trip into the gnarly nude world of pre-beat San Francisco spiritual leader and weirdo wild man James Broughton in this SXSW-premiering docu. - RA

LENNY COOKE
Benny and Joshua Safdie's docu is the fascinating sounding story of a forgotten high school basketball phenom, once ranked above LeBron James, Amar'e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony. - RA

NORTHWEST
This film marks Danish director Michael Noer's solo narrative debut after co-directing R with Tobias Lindholm (A Hijacking). Known in Europe as Nordvest, this gritty crime drama shows off its mighty amounts of promise in its trailer here. - RA
