Well here we are. Tonight the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival opens with the premiere screening of The National concert documentary Mistaken For Strangers. Things then kick off good and proper tomorrow, the festivities running all the way to the 28th. So... you ready, New York? We at ScreenAnarchy are just about. ALMOST CHRISTMAS

BYZANTIUM
Though the buzz from the festival circuit has been lackluster for Neil Jordan's return to the vampire myth, this is after all a Neil Jordan directed vampire film. Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan star as momma vamp and baby vamp. So to that I say: "Let the blood pour, my beauties!"- BU

Julianne Moore reprises her recent role-de-rigueur as a goofy cougar in ridiculously prolific TV director Craig Zisk's (The Larry Sanders Show, Weeds) feature debut. Michael Angarano, Greg Kinnear, Lily Collins, and Nathan Lane co-star. - RA

One look at the trailer for Viktor Kubicek and Derek Anderson's Bernie Madoff documentary and it's clear the stage is set for a thrilling financial drama that tests the old adage that truth is stranger than fiction. - RA
INSIDE OUT: THE PEOPLE ART PROJECT
Alastair Siddons's gorgeous looking docu takes us inside the worldwide art project from French street artist JR, famous for using enormous portraits to cover buildings around the globe. - RA
MCCONKEY
Red Bull Media House has made a habit of producing the very best in action sports filmmaking in recent years and there is no doubt this documentary on the life of late great extreme athlete and Red Bull poster boy Shane McConkey will be one of the most exciting yet. - RA
THE PRETTY ONE
Zoe Kazan is certainly a pretty one. Now more importantly she's one of our most damn fine young actresses right now. Jake Johnson and John Carrol Lynch co-star in Jenée LaMarque's drama on identity and loss. -BU

Take a trip into the gnarly nude world of pre-beat San Francisco spiritual leader and weirdo wild man James Broughton in this SXSW-premiering docu. - RA

Mo Ogrodnik's sophomore follow-up to Ripe is this indie thriller about a lift chair operator who accompanies a prep school flirt on an Ecuadorean drug smuggling adventure. - RA
FARAH GOES BANG
Meera Menon's "road trip, buddy comedy, sex farce, chick flick" is the story of a girl hitting the road to help elect John Kerry and lose her virginity in the process (...or maybe the other way around). - RA

Benny and Joshua Safdie's docu is the fascinating sounding story of a forgotten high school basketball phenom, once ranked above LeBron James, Amar'e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony. - RA
NORTHWEST
This film marks Danish director Michael Noer's solo narrative debut after co-directing R with Tobias Lindholm (A Hijacking). Known in Europe as Nordvest, this gritty crime drama shows off its mighty amounts of promise in its trailer here. - RA
