Kitamura Says He's Bringing Sakaguchi Back For VERSUS Sequel In 2014
This should be great news for any fans of Versus, the frenetic, low-budget, crazy action film from Japan in 2000 that has become a cult favorite over the years: Director Kitamura Ryuhei will be making a sequel some time next year. He made the announcement when he was on stage promoting his new Hollywood film No One Lives.
Kitamura also expressed his confidence that Sakaguchi Tak, star of the original Versus (and other action films like Shinobi and Yakuza Weapon), will appear in the sequel. "The lead actor (Sakaguchi Tak) is retired, but I'll get him to make a comeback. He'll do it if I do it," Kitamura commented.
