A Smoky Still From Andrew Lau's THE GUILLOTINES
International sales of Andrew Lau's upcoming The Guillotines have been brisk and in a press release announcing this fact sales agents We Distribution included a brand new still from the picture, which you can see above.
We Distribution continues to seal a slew of major territory sales on the action thriller "The Guillotines". Currently in postproduction, the US$15 million film was sold to Metrodome Distribution for UK, AB Droits Audiovisuels for French-speaking Europe, Minerva Pictures for Italy and WEG Entertainment for India. The film has previously closed North America with Well Go USA, Germany and the Benelux with Splendid Films, and Australia/New Zealand with Icon Film Distribution. C.I.S., Middle East and Latin America are currently under negotiation.
"The Guillotines" marks the first collaboration of "Infernal Affairs trilogy" director Andrew Lau and producer Peter Ho-sun Chan. It summons some of Asia's hottest young actors including Huang Xiaoming ("The Message", "Ip Man 2"), Taiwan Golden Horse best actor Ethan Juan ("Monga"), Shawn Yue ("Reign of Assassins", "Infernal Affairs II"), Li Yuchun ("Bodyguards and Assassins", "Flying Swords of Dragon Gate") and Boran Jing ("Hot Summer Days") in a story about a covert squad called The Guillotines responsible for carrying out secret missions for the Emperor.
