New US Trailer For BLADE OF KINGS (TWINS EFFECT 2), On Blu-ray March 6 From Well Go USA
Over the last couple of months, Well Go USA has quietly been releasing some really solid catalog titles on Blu-ray in the US that haven't gotten the attention of the bigger films. Earlier this month we saw the US Blu-ray debut of Donnie Yen's Flash Point, and March 6th brings a Blu-ray/DVD combo release of their latest release, Blade of Kings.

Blade of Kings is a retitled release of Twins Effect 2. Normally this kind of thing would give me heartburn, but since it is pretty much unrelated to the first film, I think I'm okay with it. If it helps to move some units, I'll allow it. I haven't seen any of Well Go's catalog Blu-ray releases, but since this film is reasonably recent (2004), I have high hopes for the quality. In any case, Well Go sure do know how to cut a trailer.  Here's a brief synopsis and the new US trailer for Blade of Kings.
The film is set in Flower Capital, a kingdom ruled by an evil queen (Qu Ying), who started hating men after her lover, High Priest Wei Liao (Daniel Wu), betrayed her. All men in the kingdom are slaves to women. However, a prophecy foretells that one day, the Star of Rex will rise to power, overthrow the queen, and restore the balance of the two sexes. The Star of Rex is Charcoal Head (Jaycee Chan), a boy from a humble background. Charcoal, along with his adoptive father Blackwood and adoptive brother Blockhead (Bolin Chen), earn a living by street-performing.

Once, the brothers obtain a treasure map engraved on a stone from their friend, Peachy (Edison Chen), and embark on a treasure hunt. They are accompanied by two lovely, but lethal, female warriors named Spring (Charlene Choi) and Blue Bird (Gillian Chung). During their eventful journey, the group encounter Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (Donnie Yen), a master swordsman who has made it his quest to overthrow the queen's regime. However, he must first deal with the Lord of Armour (Jackie Chan).
