Dimension Picks Up Maury And Bustillo's LIVID

Back in 2007 the directing duo of Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury created a huge splash with Inside (A L'Interieur), an enormously bloody, all female slasher movie that premiered in Cannes and established the duo as the hottest up and comers in the horror scene.

Among other things Inside also got the duo locked into an ongoing dance with the Weinstein Brothers and Dimension Films. Dimension picked up Inside for North American distribution, and though they didn't do much with it they liked the filmmakers enough that - for a while, at least - they were attached to write and direct the still-in-development Hellraiser reboot. But then Dimension didn't like the Maury / Bustillo script and Maury / Bustillo didn't like the Dimension script so they walked away from Hellraiser and made Livid - a second French language offering - instead. And now Dimension are going to bring that to North American audiences, too, with word now out that they have just picked up distribution rights. No word yet on release plans.

It's young Lucy's first day as a trainee in-house caregiver. She visits Mrs Jessel, an old woman who lies in cerebral coma, by herself, in her large desolate house. Learning by accident that Mrs Jessel, a former dance teacher of repute, supposedly possesses a treasure somewhere in the house, Lucy and friends William and Ben decide to search the house in the hope of finding it. At night, they get into the house, which reveals itself to be increasingly peculiar. Their hunt for Mrs Jessel's treasure leads them into a horrifying supernatural series of events that will change Lucy forever...
