Bryan Cranston Lands TOTAL RECALL Villain Role
Well now, Len Wiseman's remake of Total Recall just got a lot more interesting.
Thus far the main positive note on this one has been the presence of writer Kurt Wimmer - director of Equilibrium - as star Colin Farrel is someone I can take or leave. Don't dislike him but have never really understood what the fuss and bother was about, either. But every film gets better with the casting of a good villain and Total Recall just got a great one.
According to Variety Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston is in negotiations to play the villain opposite Farrel's hero and the casting gives me hope that Wisemen and Wimmer are aiming to deliver something significantly different from the 1990 Paul Verhoeven effort, namely something more true to the spirit of author Philip K Dick.
