Angelica Lee Starring In Oxide Pang's 3D Thriller SLEEPWALKER
The Pang Brothers' greatest successes - their international breakout with The Eye, their Cannes selection with Re-Cycle - have both come with star Angelica Lee in the lead so is it vain to hope that her third on-screen pairing with a Pang could restore them to their previous form?

The Pangs - twin brothers Danny and Oxide - have stumbled badly in recent years, seeming to favor quantity over quality with their standard output being one solo film each and a Brothers film almost every year. though their visual skills are still on display in fits and starts there's simply no denying that the quality of their scripts has been in steady decline and the international fan base built by The Eye has been steadily eroding. That said early work such as The Eye and the original Bangkok Dangerous still stand as potent pieces of work, making it difficult to completely write off the duo.

Their most recent effort - The Child's Eye - is Hong Kong's first experiment with the new generation of 3D technology and producers are happy enough with the results that they have now got Oxide Pang in production on a solo feature using the same technology.

Angelica Lee - also Oxide's wife - takes the lead in Sleepwalker, a thriller co-starring Charlie Young in a story tracking a woman - presumably Lee - plagued by recurring dreams and a policewoman - presumably Young - struggling to solve a murder case.

Lee is very picky about her projects, maintaining a much slower pace of work than most of her peers and that selectiveness coupled with the fact that she's simply very, very good gives hope that Pang's evident style may finally be backed by some legitimate substance again.
