HUNGER Director Steve McQueen to Re-team with Fassbender for SHAME
I may be singling myself out here in saying that visual artist Steve McQueen's feature debut HUNGER, was not only one of the best films of 2008, but one of the best of the aughts period.  And for his second feature entitled SHAME McQueen has once again called upon the always stellar Michael Fassbender who played IRA leader-in-prison Bobby Sands in HUNGER. Variety reports that the film will be looking for potential buyers on the floor at Toronto with principle photography starting in January.

As for what the film is about:
Fassbender will play Brandon, a thirty-something man in New York City who is unable to manage his sex life.
Might not sound like much on paper, but it is bound to make for an interesting study of character and place, what with that title and when you consider Fassbender's sex appeal (take note his amoral, complex turn in Andrea Arnold's FISH TANK) and the possibility of HUNGER cinematographer Sean Bobbit lensing NYC. Also take note McQueen co-wrote the script with BRICK LANE scribe Abi Morgan.
