Ricardo Darin Stars In Pablo Trapero's CARANCHO!
Argentina's Ricardo Darin has man fans here at ScreenAnarchy, the lot of us drawn in not only by his skill but his impeccable taste in scripts. And so when the star of Nine Queens, El Aura and this year's foreign-language Oscar nominee The Secret Behind Their Eyes turns up in anything new it's always a cause for celebration.

Well, get out your party hats because Darin will be hitting screens in Argentina - and festivals worldwide - this summer as the lead of Pablo Trapero's Carancho.

Darin - unrecognizable in that poster - reportedly stars as a sleazy, ambulance chasing personal injury lawyer who gets caught up in events out of his control and, given the gun in the corner of the poster, you can guess what direction that takes things ...

Somewhat surprisingly, South Korea's Finecut - the same company backing Kim Jee-woon's I Saw The Devil - are one of the principal investors on this and while I have a hard time understanding why a Korean film company would be backing a purely Argentinian film, Finecut has a remarkable record of finding and backing quality projects.
