Though the ship has already sailed on this one (released on the 19th October) I feel compelled to spread a bit of Haneke love. To coincide with the theatrical release of The White Ribbon, Artificial Eye has released a frankly magnificent-sounding 10-disc box set of his major works on DVD. "The Essential Michael Haneke" features the likes of Funny Games (both versions), The Piano Teacher and Hidden, plus previously unreleased Kafka adaptation The Castle and a UK first for Haneke documentary 24 Realities Per Second.
