New Set of Posters for Superhero Actioner 전우치 (Jeon Woo Chi)
And you can officially color me unimpressed. Not that posters matter that much in the grand scheme of things (at least from a film geek standpoint - they certainly do matter for marketing folks and the recipient of their bait efforts), but... really, is this all they could come up with?

So that's the bad news, the posters kind of suck. The good news is.... look at that cast. With the possible exception of Im Soo-Jung and Kim Yoon-Seok, who doesn't seem to know the concept of getting one wrong these days, most of the rest of the cast seems to be in serious need of a good project to balance some of their dubious choices as of late. Lead Kang Dong-Won might have been choosing terrific projects the last few years, and I'm still the guy who gave 형사 Duelist the only 10 I'd spare for a Korean film since 살인의 추억 (Memories of Murder) - and, dammit, I still stand by it - but M didn't exactly register too well for this Lee Myung-Se afiocionado. As for Yoo Hae-Jin, one of the best character actors in Korea when given the chance, an inglorious rush of pedestrian fare - 트럭 (The Truck), 강철중 (Public Enemy Returns), 이장과 군수 (Small Town Rivals) and so on - sort of left a bitter taste, as he certainly deserves better. I won't even mention Baek Yoon-Shik's abysmal choice of projects after 2006, or Yeom Jung-Ah's disastrous 2008 with that mess on TV known as 워킹멈 (Working Mom). But, hey, it's Choi Dong-Hoon. And with a humongous cast like that, playing Back to the Future meets Hanbok-wearing superhero shenanigans in 전우치 (Jeon Woo Chi: The Taoist Wizard). The posters might suck, but I still can't wait...
