KINGS shoot wraps in Greece
Greek-Australian comedy The Kings of Mykonos has wrapped production in Greece, with the movie's writer and star ecstatic with the mostly offshore shoot in the paradise location.

"It's gone much better than I expected. I feel like we have something very special here," Nick Giannopoulos told ScreenAnarchy.

"Mykonian and Greek people have been amazing. They have helped us enormously with their hard work generosity and good will. I can't wait to get home and start post production alongside my incredible director Peter Andrikidis."

Shooting location aside, Giannopoulos has good reason to sound upbeat. The Kings of Mykonos is the sequel to his decade old smash hit The Wog Boy, which took upwards of $13 million at the local box office, a huge result for a non-Hollywood blockbuster.

With The Kings of Mykonos, he returns to familiar ground but adds to lure of Greece, after his character discovers he has inherited a beach from a distant uncle. Rounding out the Australian cast are Kevin 'Hercules' Sorbo and Greek film star Zeta Makripoulia.

Paramount Pictures Australia is eyeing an Easter 2010 release date for Australia, with other territories as yet unannounced.
