The first titles for the 2007 edition of the Sitges Film Festival -- arguably the most important fantastic film fest in the world -- have just been announced and, not surprisingly, the first block of titles focuses heavily on Spanish language titles. J.S. Bayona's The Orphanage will kick things off, with other announced titles including Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza's Rec, Gonzalo López-Gallego's El Rey de la Montaña and -- hurray! -- Nacho Vigalondo's Time Crimes.

Now, I suppose this would be as good a time as any to mention that I've just been made an associate producer on Time Crimes, a move that came as a surprise to me as I don't have any money tied up in the film or any such thing. Basically, I'd been helping Nacho and the boys out by introducing them to different sales companies and distributors that may be a good fit for them and they slipped the credit in there as a way of saying thanks. So, I'm horribly biased, obviously, but go us!
