The screenplay for Neko no kazoku was written by Watanabe, based on the eponymous story by Yôko Aki. The movie stars Noriko Hamada, Akiho Yoshizawa, Shôichi Imai, B Ariyoshi (Ariyoshi Bî), Norihiko Kuwagaki, Atsuko Kubo, Keiichi Aiba, Miyoko Hanai, Yui Mamiya, and Kiichirô Wakayama.
Total Media Corporation (TMC K.K. / K.K. Tî Emu Shî) is scheduled to release Neko no kazoku on DVD (DOS-013) in Japan on December 22nd.
