THE WINDMILL MASSACRE: Kaleidoscope Boards Sales Rights Ahead Of EFM Debut
Nick Jongerius' debut horror film The Windmill Massacre is currently is post and looking to debut this Spring. Screen Daily is reporting that Kaleidoscope Film Distribution has come on board to handle sales at the upcoming European Film Market during Berlinale. You can be sure there will be some footage rolled out during the market to whet the appetites of buyers that week.

We first caught wind (ha!) of this film back in 2013 when Jongerius, at that time a producer on Richard Raaphorst's cinéma vérité horror flick Frankenstein's Army, dropped a nifty proof of concept on us. Jongerius continued to work with another FA producer, Daniel Koefoed, on his own flick from then on.

The Windmill Massacre stars Charlotte Beaumont and ScreenAnarchy fave Noah Taylor. Tanroh Ishida, Fiona Hampton, Ben Batt and Adam Thomas Wright also star.

Jennifer is an Australian girl on the run from her past who washes up in Amsterdam. In a desperate attempt to stay one step ahead of the authorities, she joins a coach-load of tourists embarking on a tour of Holland's world famous windmills.  When the bus breaks down in the middle of nowhere, she and the other tourists are forced to seek shelter in a disused shed beside a sinister windmill where, legend has it, a Devil-worshiping miller once ground the bones of locals instead of grain.  As members of the group start to disappear, Jennifer learns that they all have something in common - a shared secret that seems to mark them all for doom.

Director Nick Jongerius said: "It has been a privilege to shoot an international horror as my feature debut, using the famous Dutch heritage and locations as the backdrop. I have always been fascinated, and scared at the same time, by windmills. I can assure you will look at them differently from now on."

With the promise of a spring debut we now anticipate announcements of which festival gets the World Premiere and where it will play on the festival circuit after that. And we presume that a trailer is not too far off as well. Keep your eyes peeled.
