Fantastic Fest 2015: DARLING Poster and Trailer Are Old School
Oh hey there, Glass Eye Pix, nice to see you again! The poster and trailer for their latest production, Darling, is here. Now that I've seen both, I'm really looking forward to the film's promised descent into insanity. The world premiere will be shown at Fantastic Fest on Friday, September 25 at 5:20 pm (with and an encore screening on Thursday, October 1 at 1:30pm), and the film's trailer and poster are decidedly old school in a really great way.

Directed by Micky Keating (Pod), the trailer begins with a warning: "this film contains flashing lights and hallucinogenic images." Right off the bat, you know you're in for something interesting. However, the trailer offers the kind of throwback voice over that came with awesome 70s horror films: "something .... beyond comprehension... is happening..."

The music recalls Wendy Carlos' goosebump-laden score for The Shining and the images (including the poster) bring Hitchcock and Polanski to mind. The cast includes Sean Young, Larry Fessenden, and Lauren Ashley Carter (Jug Face).

"Terror beyond comprehension," promises the end of the trailer. Whether that's true or not, I can't wait to find out.
