Exclusive: Images And Music Sample From THE BURNING KISS

The team behind new Australian feature The Burning Kiss has some exclusive images and a sample of the score to share with ScreenAnarchy's readers. 

 

"Mario Bava's The Whip And The Body and avant-garde filmmakers like Stan Brakhage and Danny Perez were influential over these tarot card inspired chapter breaks that feature in the film. They've got a mystical pop art, neon Vegas vibe that I really love," explains director Robbie Studsor about the style of the visuals. 

The film's music score was crafted by talented Australian composer and 2014 APRA Screen Music Award nominee Christopher de Groot using a unique orchestration of guitar, piano, vibraphone, Mellotron, harps, 8-piece flute choir, vocals, congas and a home-made gamelan. "It's a tropical noir nightmare!" he explains about the music in the film. "For me, the music of The Burning Kiss is a melting pot of exotica, Delia Derbyshire, classic Bernard Herrman and a pinch of John Zorn."
