THE CORPSE OF ANNA FRITZ Trailer Secures Its Position As Most Controversial Film Of SXSW
A beautiful young actress dies and a group of drunken young men can't resist the chance to see the corpse of a woman they've idolized in the morgue and ... yep. It goes there.

Selected as part of the Midnighters program at SXSW, Hèctor Hernández Vicens' The Corpse of Anna Fritz has just released its first trailer and it crosses over one of the few remaining lines with the power to shock just by going there. Take a look at the teaser below.

Anna Fritz is a very famous and beautiful actress, considered one of the most desired women in the world. Suddenly, she dies.

Pau works as an orderly at the hospital where Anna Fritz was taken to. Pau is a shy and introverted youth. Often, when the body of a young woman is brought to the morgue, he can't resist watching her. When he enters the morgue with the corpse of Anna Fritz, he takes a picture of her naked body and sends it to his friend Ivan.

Ivan and Javi are Pau's only friends, and go visit him at the hospital. They are a little drunk and Ivan wants to see the naked body of Anna Fritz. She is there... They can't lose this opportunity.

Reminds me of Deadgirl (2008), hopefully this one will be better...

Um. Ew. This will either make some insightful statements about objectification, or be simple grindhouse exploitation sleaze. I am not confident it will be the former.

This may get interesting if it turns out that the actress was mis-diagnosed as dead, and wakes up in mid-rape, as is suggested by this trailer. Because these guys can hardly claim that they were trying to give her "the kiss of life" or something like that.

Could go in all directions. So far, I'm intrigued.

Totally agree.

...this reminds me of a short (film) i've seen over on Ain'tItCoolNews of some year(s) back (of Saturday Shortsdom); but - i'll be darned if I can find it.(!) :/

i THINK it ALSO took place in a morgue and had (a very funny) Anton Yelchin in the lead.
I know this is Such a BIG help...(!) HA.
*if ever i can locate this little film i'll send it your way if you'd like. :-)

yeahh. -- i'd ordinarily say Y.ES.

but.. Anton Yelchin's in that one that i've been trying to dredge up from memory.
- I don't think he's in DeadGirl, is he.?

Negative, but he did a Joe Dante film last year called Burying the Ex that sounds remarkably similar to two other films from the last two years.

Deadgirl already did this concept, and this trailer looks like crap. Deadgirl, on the outside is a horror, but plays like a coming of age film for poor white trash friends. They are in an abandoned hospital and find a z-word or something similar...I'd think that it might be difficult to invite your drunk friends to a hospital to bang the corpse of a very famous who just died.

....don't think THAT'S the one i've been trying to come up with either. :/
