Justin Lin Takes The Helm Of Third STAR TREK Film
THR is reporting that Justin Lin, the director that took the Fast & Furious franchise to a new level, will be taking the captain's chair of the USS Enterprise in the third Star Trek film. He takes over the directing gig after Roberto Orci left early in December.

Talk among yourselves.

(UPDATE: Paramount just announced the release date for the third film. July8th, 2016, nearly 50 years to the day when the original television series launched )

Safe choice. Lin's done big-budget action films with a lot of flash and very little personality. Perfect for Paramount, since that's what they specialise in.

I was kind of hoping Joe Cornish would do it, since I can't wait to see how he follows up ATTACK THE BLOCK.

I'm fine with Lin. Within the context of the cinematic universe they've created, I think he'll do a fine job. But a million "hell yes"'s to Cornish. I was so hoping he'd get the gig. Oh well, maybe his next job'll be something he came up with on his own. Attack the Block was...how do I wanna say this? A shitload of fun.

I hate both J.J. Abrams' Trek, they are really awful movies, so any New director choice is a welcome choice for me.
Orci, Lin.....just not that moron
