Herman Yau Exposes Asian Sex Tourism In First SARA Trailer
Herman Yau has come a long way since the exploitation days of The Untold Story and Ebola Syndrome. Recent years have seen him score hits with a pair of ip Man action dramas - The Legend Is Born: Ip Man (2010) and Ip Man; The Final Fight (2013) - and a raft of triad and horror flicks that have kept him very much central to Hong Kong's dwindling movie scene.
Between his genre offerings, Yau has turned his attention to more serious subjects, delivering more than one highly acclaimed drama investigating the lives of sex workers in Hong Kong. In a similar vein to Whispers and Moans (2007) and True Women For Sale (2008) comes his new film, Sara, starring Charlene Choi as a journalist who encounters a child prostitute in Thailand, and vows to rescue her from a life of servitude and exploitation. Sara also stars Simon Yam and will debut on Hong Kong screens on 5 March.

Synopsis:
Journalist Sara has just spent four months completing an in-depth investigation piece. Her editor-in-chief, afraid of offending powerful politicians and business moguls, refuses to run it. Sara's boyfriend, who works for the same magazine, chooses not to warn her and even sides with the editor-in-chief. In just one moment, Sara is turned off by her work, her love relationship, and even about life.At this low point in her life, Sara exiles herself to Chiang Mai, Thailand. One evening, while at a bar, Sara meets child prostitute Dok-my. During her time getting to know Dok-my and through the process of rescuing her, Sara becomes haunted by the memories of her own past...
