LAGGIES: Are You One? Watch Trailer To Find Out
The latest film by Lynn Shelton, Laggies stars Keira Knightly, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Sam Rockwell in the tale of a woman who refuses to 'grow up.'
The new trailer suggests that 'growing up' means supporting yourself financially and not acting like a kid. According to the official synopsis:
Having spent her twenties comfortably inert, 28 year old Megan (Keira Knightley) reaches a crisis when she finds herself squarely in adulthood with no career prospects, no particular motivation to pursue any and no one to relate to, including her high school boyfriend (Mark Webber). When he proposes, Megan panics and given an opportunity to escape - at least temporarily - she hides out in the home of her new friend, 16-year-old Annika (Chloƫ Grace Moretz) and Annika's world-weary single dad (Sam Rockwell).
The trailer plays very ... bouncy and insecure and possibly annoying if you're trying to get work done. On the positive side, I like all the actors involved. On the unknown side, I'm afraid I'm not familiar at all with films that Lynn Shelton has written and directed -- Humpday, Your Sister's Sister, Touchy Feely. This one is written by Andrea Seigel, receiving her first credit, so I suppose that keeps Laggies in the unknown camp for me.
You can watch the trailer below, and then decide if you're a "laggie," and/or if you want to see an entire movie about them. It's heading for theatrical release in the U.S. on October 24.
