Dwayne Johnson And McG Take A Leap For THE FALL GUY
It would appear that the attempt to get a movie version of the 80s television show The Fall Guy may have just the star power it needs to get up off the ground. Word today is that Dwayne Johnson is in negotiations to take the lead and McG (Charlie's Angels and Terminator Salvation) is in talks to direct.
If you are not old enough to remember the show (sadly on Friday I will be reminded how old enough I am to remember) it starred the Six Million Dollar Man, Lee Majors. He played a Hollywood stunt man who would collect bounties on the side because falling out of a burning building simply did not pay the bills in those days. It aired for five seasons from 1981 to 1986. I remember it mostly for Heather Thomas in the blue bikini in the opening credits (see below) and any bikini after that.
I am fine with Dwayne Johnson taking on this project. I have no issues with this. He's big, burly and has proven himself more than once to be a great entertainer. In fact, McG may be the right guy for this kind of movie as well. We're talking about a film involving a stunt man and you would expect that this concept be completely exploited and wrung of all essence to create a real spectacle. This is one of those rare moments where blowing up shit real good is to be expected, and accepted.
