Getting solid buzz on the festival circuit last year, Stories We Tell has actor and director Sarah Polley turning the focus right onto her own family roots and the strange stories, both helpful and harmful, that can be told amongst loved ones. Judging by the trailer that has dropped today, the film looks fantastic, with Polley getting her family of veteran storytellers and creatives to open up and look at the mystery behind who her birth father is, but also delving into the very nature of the narratives we choose to build our lives around. Already a success in its native Canada, Stories We Tell opens stateside in NYC on May 10th, with Los Angeles and further cities getting it on May 17th.
