Three Moody New Images From Wong Jing's THE LAST TYCOON
Distribution Workshop posted a couple of new images on their Facebook page today from Wong Jing's upcoming crime epic The Last Tycoon (previously known as Once Upon A Time In Shanghai), featuring impressively stately poses from Chow Yun Fat and, if I'm not mistaken, a pretty old-looking Huang Xiaoming. From these images it appears that Wong is pitching for a similar aesthetic to Johnnie To's underworld hit Election or even Wilson Yip's Ip Man, albeit with a 1920s setting.

The film, written and directed by Wong and produced by Andrew Lau, recreates the true misadventures of Shanghai mobster Du Yuesheng (Chow), who had close ties with KMT leader Chiang Kai Shek. The production boasts an impressive cast that stars Chow and Huang alongside Francis Ng, Sammo Hung and The Flowers Of War's breakout actress Ni Ni, who between them promise plenty of action and smouldering eye candy. The Last Tycoon recently began production in China and is likely to see a release sometime next year.
