BULLHEAD Director Prepping Crime-Tragedy THE FAITHFUL
With Michael Roskam's debut feature Bullhead proving a major commercial and critical success - the film has been selected as Belgium's submission for the Best Foreign Film category at the Oscars - the question turns to 'What's next?' And the answer to that is The Faithful.
Roskam is preparing his sophomore feature to, hopefully, shoot in 2012. Describing the picture as a romance-crime-tragedy Roskam is setting The Faithful against the backdrop of the ultra-violent criminal gangs of 1990s Brussels. Though the scale of this one promises to be somewhat higher when it comes to action and violence the picture will very much maintain the balance of character and tragedy that has made Bullhead such a success. Expect the key creative team behind Bullhead - include cinematographer Nicolas Karakatsanis and composer Raf Keunen - to reunite for this one.
