Bruce LaBruce's Undead Epic L.A. ZOMBIE Is Coming To DVD From Strand Releasing September 20th!
Bruce LaBruce is an underground film legend, and in the queer film community, he's even more than that.  L.A. Zombie is his latest and highest profile work to date.  The film was exhaustively and comprehensively covered by our own Michael Guillen, who not only reviewed the film but analyzed its cultural context and other critical responses.  I can't even imagine adding anything to the conversation, if you are at all interested, please check out his review in the related links below.  For right now, here is the relevant information regarding the DVD release, and I will attempt a review on the disc when I get the opportunity.
L.A. ZOMBIE

"THIS SEXY HORROR FILM WILL GET YOUR ADRENALINE PUMPING ALL NIGHT" - Amber Schadewald, San Francisco Bay Gaurdian
"RAW, SEXUALLY RAVISHING ETHOS" - Michael Guillen, Twitch

"A TWISTED MORALITY TALE... A STRANGELY SENSORY EXPERIENCE... A VERY WELL-DONE AND THOUGHTFUL FILM"
 - Karen Oughton, Fangoria

Canadian bad boy Bruce La Bruce is back with a hyper-sexual analysis of contemporary gay culture with L.A. Zombie. Starring international porn star and model Francois Sagat, the film follows an alien zombie creature as he emerges from the sea and attempts to make sense of his new home, Los Angeles. After getting picked up by a surfer in a truck, a severe accident occurs that results in the surfer lying dead in the middle of the road. The alien zombie has sex with the dead man and brings him back to life. Wandering away from the accident, he finds himself among LA's homeless population where it becomes increasingly unclear whether he really is an alien zombie or a schizophrenic suffering from delusions. Like a kind of dark savior, the alien zombie proceeds to find various dead men in the Greater Los Angeles area and bring them back to life. Part porn; part horror; part art film; part critique of superficiality in the gay world; all Bruce La Bruce!
The film does include graphic sexual material, so it isn't for everyone, but if you've seen a Bruce LaBruce film before, you're probably aware of what you're in for.  It is not available at Amazon, but I have put up the link to buy directly from Strand.
