A press conference was held today in Beijing to officially announced the production of White Vengeance (鸿门宴), an upcoming historical epic based on the Feast At Hong Gate. Coincidentally, Lu Chuan's The Last Supper is due out this year that is also based on the same story from the Han Dynasty. Directing/writing the production is Daniel Lee who is no stranger to this genre with 14 Blades and Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon already under his belt. The cast will include Leon Lai as Liu Bang, Anthony Wong as Xiang Yu, Yifei Liu, Jordan Chan as Fan Zeng and Zhang Hanyu as Zhang Liang.
Shooting is set to begin in mid-April with the release date aimed sometime this year. You'll find the 6-minute promo reel embedded below.
