ALIEN VS NINJA Director Seiji Chiba Casts HIGH KICK GIRL Rina Takeda In KUNOICHI
At this point there doesn't seem to be much question about the talent of nineteen year old karate star Rina Takeda. The star of High Kick Girl and Karate Girl has definitely got the physical skills and a good amount of natural charisma. The question is if / when she'll land with a director able to channel those skills.
Enter Alien vs Ninja director Seiji Chiba. AVN is a hysterically fun bit of film making, stylish and fun despite the tight budget and short production cycle. Chiba is a specialist in ninja films, having shot several of varying degrees of seriousness, and he's cast Takeda in the lead of Kunoichi - the story of a female ninja fighting to free a group of women.
With a release scheduled for March 19th the film should be deep into post production by this point. Hopefully a trailer will arrive soon.
