Say this for Richard Ayoade: The popular comedian and director of the stellar Submarine is charting one hell of an interesting career path for himself. the man is in Hollywood right now directing an upcoming episode of Community - it's titled Critical Film Studies - while pondering a pair of potential feature projects.
Option one, aka The Hollywood Option. The Apostles Of Infinite Love, a comic drama which would re-team Ayoade with Ben Stiller, who served as an executive producer on Submarine. Apostles is a Black List script about a family trying to save their daughter from a suicide cult that Stiller is on board to produce.
Option two, aka The Indie Option. A film adaptation of Dostoevsky's novella The Double - which revolves around a government clerk convinced a co-worker is trying to steal his identity - which Ayoade is co-writing with Harmony Korine's brother, Avi.
