Dante Lam's FIRE OF CONSCIENCE Gets A Much Needed Make Over
We don't do a lot of 'Movie X has a new poster' posts in these parts because I just generally don't consider marketing materials to be news, but I do make exceptions in certain cases. And Dante Lam's Fire of Conscience is definitely one of those cases.
The follow up to Lam's hugely (and justifiably) acclaimed Beast Stalker - though Sniper released later it was completed long before and held up by the Edison Chen sex scandal - has massive expectations on it with many (myself included) pegging it as the most likely offering to live up to Hong Kong's history of stellar cop thrillers this year. What it hasn't had until now, though, is artwork to live up to those expectations, with the initial sales art being pretty awful, frankly. This new stuff is much, much better.

When the DNA samples of one of Manfred's fellow officers are found at the crime scene, implicating him as the prime suspect, Manfred must look beyond the obvious to get to the truth. Meanwhile, Kee's uncanny eagerness to lend a helping hand every step of the way outside his own turf is beginning to smack of evil. In the line of fire between high levels of corruption and possible malice, Manfred must solve all the twists and turns of the mystery, trying to figure out who his enemy is and how to save his innocent partner from unfathomable disgrace. Unwittingly, he is about to open a Pandora's Box that will threaten to upend the entire Hong Kong Police Force.
