MADAME TUTLI-PUTLI, LAND OF THE HEADS, RYAN And More Get On the NFB's ANIMATION EXPRESS!

Canada, like all countries, spends an awful lot of tax dollars on very silly things.  Things that are good only as the punch line for jokes. But one thing that we spend our money on that I can get behind proudly is a seemingly never-ending string of quality animation supported by the National Film Board of Canada.  We turn out a lot of high end work here, films that rack up awards all around the globe.  The only problem, really, is that they're awfully hard for regular people to see.  But not so much any more.

Releasing on October 27th is Animation Express - a new collection of NFB short films available both as a single disc BluRay and a two disc DVD set.  But don't bother with the regular DVD ... though only one disc, the BluRay actually has enough capacity to hold a whopping thirteen extra films.  Among those on both editions are the stunning Madame Tutli-Putli, Cordell Barker's Runaway, personal fave Land of the Heads, and the brilliantly titled Invasion of the Space Lobsters.  Those who spring for the BluRay will get a pair of Oscar winners - The Danish Poet and Ryan - among their extra titles.  I'm goin' shoppin.
