Final Trailer For Jeffrey Lau's KUNG FU CYBORG?
[Updated with English subtitled version of the trailer.]
With the Chinese release less than a month away a new trailer - labeled as being the final trailer - has arrived on Chinese web portal Sina for Jeffrey Lau's Metallic Attraction: Kung Fu Cyborg, the film that he initiated as a Chinese answer to the huge success of Transformers. Well, it's good to dream big, Jeffrey, but the material for this film has been as entirely b-grade as you'd expect from a film titled Kung Fu Cyborg right from the beginning - whether that is a good or bad thing depends entirely on the viewer, this is so daft that it edges over on to the good side for me - and so it seems only appropraite that the freshly released trailer features some flagrantly unfinished CGI work and runs with the audio out of synch. That said, it does feature a lot of footage we haven't seen before and - even with the flaws - is a good bit more polished than previous versions.
Because Sina is notoriously unfriendly to viewers outside of China we've got the new trailer for you below the break in our own player.
